Follow the A556 for about four miles until you reach the major roundabout junction with the M56
Follow the M56 Eastbound in the direction of the Stockport & the Airport
Take the exit at J3 (follow the signs for M60 S & E, Stockport) which leads to the M60
Take the exit at J1 signed for A34 Manchester City Centre & Didsbury.
Take the right hand lane
Turn right at the traffic lights by the Gateway pub onto Manchester Road.
The Alexandra Hospital is about 800 yards on the right

From the North (Lancashire) - using M6:

Follow the M6 Southbound towards Birmingham
Take the exit at J20a & follow the signs for the M56
Follow the M56 Eastbound towards Stockport & Manchester Airport
Take the exit at J3 (follow the signs for M60 S & E, Stockport) which leads to the M60
Take the exit at J1 signed for A34 Manchester City Centre & Didsbury.
